CBS rolled to its usual ratings victory on Friday night, sweeping all three hours of primetime. Led by "Numb3rs," CBS drew 9.05 million viewers and a 5.5 rating/10 share in households for the night. CBS did what CBS normally does on a Friday night: win. The network, thanks to its strong drama lineup, took both the viewers and the demos this weekend.

Ghost Whisperer (2.2/8 in 18-49) raked in 8.6 million.

Dec 18, 2009 News from Steven himself:
(Thank you, Steven!)

Dec 4, 2009 The official website of the short movie "Refresh" was updated. It includes now a trailer, promotion pictures and behind the scene pictures.

Longer synopsis:

Roger Dean, a successful businessman, has been chronically unhappy for years. Over time, he has attempted a wide range of remedies, some prescribed, some not; some orthodox, some radical, but none have worked for him. At the end of his rope, he approaches PDLAS, a mysterious private company that promises an effective -but irrevocable- solution. He is assured that the company has a 100% success rate, and that he will 'emerge completely refreshed.' What ultimately happens to Roger is of course much, much more than he bargained for.

Oct 25, 2009 According to IMDB, Steven completed another movie, the short movie "Refresh."

Oct 7, 2009 * Steven will appear in the episode "Bad Seed" of the TV series "CSI: Miami" on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:00 pm ET/PT on CBS.

He will play Jerry Mackey.

Written by: Brian Davidson
Directed by: Matt Earl Beesley

(TV Guide.com)

Synopsis: A lethal outbreak in Miami that is linked to deadly farming practices is investigated as murder.

Plotline and Casting Call (spoiler alert --> highlight to read):

[JERRY] 45 to 50 years old, the CEO of Baxter Organic Foods, he's a Wall Streeter with an open collar (dressed Miami corporate-casual). Suspected of having guilty knowledge of the spread of the E. Coli virus, Jerry lets his attorney do the talking for him, and appears to be smirkingly convinced that he's above the law -- or that he's covered his tracks really well. Later, when Horatio promises not to press charges, Jerry leans back and spills his guts, revealing that the financial advantages of genetically modified corn outweigh the potential liability of the occasional untraceable outbreak of botulism. Jerry's corporate commitment to "clean, organic" food is just a story he feeds to chumps; he's only interested in profits. A man with his eye on the bottom line, he's just hateful enough to realize his arguments won't charm a jury in civil court ...

(* Oct 20, 2009 - edited to add: bscreview.com, thoughts of the scenes Steven's chacter was involved with, by Scott Parker)

We also are treated to a mini-treatise on modern agriculture courtesy of Warren and, later, the CEO, played by Steven Culp. Mr. Culp must get a lot of casting calls to play a-hole hotshots, because he brings his A Game to this episode. The little snide chuckle as he leaves the station the first time is nicely swallowed at the end, when Horatio pulls out the tape recorder, revealing their entire conversation about “acceptable losses of human life” is okay if it feeds hundreds. Culp’s CEO makes the case for modern agriculture: food prices would skyrocket, people would starve, and the most fundamental of all, people don’t care where their food comes from. All valid points, to be sure, but he’s still an arrogant ass about it.

Sep 28, 2009 * ** Steven will appear in the episode "Jurisprudence" of the TV series "Cold Case" on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 10:00 pm ET/PT on CBS.

Apr 17, 2009 Excerpt from an interview with David James Elliott at TV Guide online:

TVGuide.com: It seemed pretty intricate. Were you ever nervous you'd get hurt? [talking about the sword-fight in his new movie Knights of Bloodsteel]

Elliott: Well it's choreographed, so hopefully it comes off like a dance. ... The swords were made of steel and they were sharp. I had one glance off my eyebrow — ripped through my eyebrow and just missed taking my eye out. So I had one mishap, but it's pretty amazing that with all the fights we had, that was the only disaster. Usually in fistfights you get punched in the face. I remember on JAG, Joe Jackson punched Steven Culp and shattered his nose. You know, we were going into our 18th hour of shooting, and they had a sequence where he had to pretend to punch him in the face, and he landed it and they had to take him away in an ambulance.

Steven Culp, who we just saw reprising his role of Rex Van de Camp on Desperate Housewives, guest stars as Will’s dad on Privileged (Tuesday, CW, 9 p.m.). It’s not the smartest scheduling move to air a new episode opposite both American Idol and the Inauguration but it’s a new episode so we should all try to watch.

(* Jan 20, 2009 - edited to add: dailypress.com)

9 p.m. CW "Privileged" Rex Van De Kamp, how we've missed you. "Desperate Housewives" alumnus Steven Culp guest stars in this new episode as Will's (Brian Hallisay) father. Meeting Will's dad and mom (Mary Page Keller) is a welcome distraction for Megan (JoAnna Garcia) from her own family issues, including another disappearance by her mother.

(** Jan 22, 2009 - edited to add)

Seriously, how good is this show? Just the scene when Megan meets Will's father (Steven Culp! For the 2nd time this week!) and assumes he's the butler before being properly introduced was a simple moment but hilariously done.

[...]

It was great to see Steven Culp as Will’s dad, and his mom is a familiar actress too.
